Spread the word

The biggest problem we’ve had as a team is the local people having no knowledge of these plans.  WMI have put little effort into letting the entirety of the affected surrounding area know of the abomination they are proposing to build. So please talk to your friends and neighbours, share our Facebook posts, re-tweet our tweets and make sure everyone you know is aware of what is going on and how they can help.

Investigating

Since the announcement of these plans each member of the team has been investigating different parts of the proposals and the background of the proposers of WMI. We understand we cannot expect people to just stop their lives to help investigating but if you spot something that you think is worth looking into please contact us. We appreciate any information or help you can give us.

Contacting Organisations/ Challenging System

Only with people power will we have a chance at stopping this monstrosity from destroying our countryside. You can help by contacting local MPs Gavin Williamson and Jeremy Lefroy, informing them of your concerns and disapproval of these proposed plans. Make them aware of the high levels of pollution it will cause, of the constant 24 hour noise, the high levels of traffic, what the loss of the countryside will have on wildlife and future generations.

Learning from Others

As you may know Essington has recently overthrown two attempts by DX to build a Super Hub on Green Belt.  This was to be a 40-acre site that local councillors defied despite development officers advising to approve the plans. However, like us the issues of the offered site being built on Green Belt land, traffic congestion and pollution were factors that led to Essington seeing off the DX development.

We are in contact with the team that worked on that case and they are advising us in our fight. Nevertheless, more help is always appreciated from those who have knowledge of ways to go against these plans or who can spare anytime to help research or spread the word.

 

Fundraising

We are currently planning fundraisers, have an online shop and have two ways of collecting any donations from anyone who is able to offer anything to help us raise the funds to gain a legal representation to support us through this battle. You can find the different way to donate at the top of this page. This is something that Essington did which aided them greatly leading to their success.
